I should mention that the method Bernd describes will
also work, but results in the panning amount being "fixed",
with no level dependence. That is to say, you can use it
to tell Guide to pan by (for example) .7 degrees for each
arrow key hit, and it will do so regardless of zoom level.

The method I pointed out will cause the pan amount to
be some fraction of the current field of view.
