Daylight "Saving" Time issues?

Bill J Gray Mar 10, 2009

Hi folks,

I've just had an inquiry from a gent whose installation
of Guide (using the latest version) hasn't handled the transition
to DST correctly. As a result, with the clock on his computer
set correctly with the right time zone and the DST check-box
set, Guide is off by one hour.

I mention this for two reasons. First, if you're seeing
a similar issue, a temporary workaround is described at

http://www.projectpluto.com/faq_curr.htm#time_error

I really thought this workaround was obsolete, since WinXP
usually handles time changes correctly. (He's using the latest
XP service pack, which correctly noted the change last Sunday.)
Looks as if it might not be obsolete yet.

Also, if you _do_ notice such an oddity, and are running Guide
with the latest update from the Web site, please let me know,
via private e-mail. I'd like to know on which OS you are seeing
this problem. I'm trying to get some idea as to how this is
happening.

Thanks! -- Bill
