My suggestion is to downgrade to XP.
There are so many astronomy programs that do not work effectively in Vista that I would
never have that installed for any dedicated computer. I keep extra copies of XP Pro in
case there is ever a shortage.

Word is, they are taking Vista out soon because it is troublesome in many other
applications than astronomy.
Good riddance.
