Re: [guide-user] celestron CPC 925 XLT SCOPE CONTROL

Hi Alfredo,
You should be able to get this scope to work, either in
ASCOM mode or in NexStar mode. ("NexStar" should be renamed
to "Celestron". In that mode, the program does a bit of
testing to see if the scope is an Ultima or any of the various
flavors of NexStar or any of the more recent Celestron
offerings. Once it figures it all out, it controls the
scope accordingly.)
If possible, I'd recommend using the NexStar mode. I
recommend ASCOM in two situations:
(1) If your scope isn't supported by Guide.
(2) If you're running other software at the time that uses
ASCOM.
The first situation is becoming all too common, but it's
not a factor for you; your scope _is_ supported. The second
situation is unfortunate, but most ASCOM drivers don't work
well with others. They grab control of the serial port, then
do not let go. So Guide is then unable to send commands
(except through ASCOM.)
