No DSS images at wide FOVs

Bill J Gray Feb 25, 2009

Hi Don,

This isn't a bug. It's a feature. (Programmers love being
able to say that!)

Originally, you could show those images at any field. The
problem was that if you went to, say, a 20-degree field of view
over a galaxy-rich area, you had to wait a _long_ time while
Guide drew a bazillion tiny images, each maybe two or three
pixels on a side. So I revised things so that if an image
was smaller than 40 pixels in both dimensions, it wouldn't get
drawn.

To revise this, you can hit Alt-J again, and this time
enter, for example,

MIN_IMG_SIZE=10

Do that, and you can zoom out by a factor of four and still
see those images. (Not that they'll look like much when reduced
to 10x10 pixels, but you _can_ do it.)
