RE: [guide-user] Guide from a thumb drive?

Hi Tim,

I have Guide on a thumb drive for travelling, it runs with no
issues although it can be a fraction slower, nothing compared with the
convenience it gives. The one problem I have found is that often hotel and
other computers are configured to not recognize external drives. If your
work computer will allow the drive to function then Guide will stay self
contained and not affect it. I use a 4 gig drive which leaves heaps of room
for other info, I think it fits on a 2 gig but just check the size of your
desktop Guide folder. To install it just copy this folder across to the
thumb drive rather than installing from disk and downloading updates. Comet
updates etc can be made direct as needed.

Regards, Jim Gifford.

Is anyone running guide from a USB thumb drive? If so, are there any issues
that I should watch out for? I'd like to do some research and planning on my
lunch hour at work and since we are forbidden to "install" any
non-sanctioned software on our computers, I thought that this would be the
easiest way to go.
