For ephemerides: "...in elongation shows - or +,
for leading or trailing..."
I may add something like this, though I may use
letters such as 'M' and 'E' to indicate morning and
evening visibility.

Noted. I have also thought about adding something
from the JPL _Horizons_ ephemeris system

This can provide a couple of letters for each ephemeris
line which will tell you, right away, if the object is
above the horizon, and if it's twilight or night or
daytime, and if the moon might be interfering. (For
_Horizons_, the latter is a space if the moon is below
the horizon, and 'm' if it is above the horizon. I
might use, say, '0'=minimal interference to '9'=
a full moon is right next to the object.)
