Do you start Guide from a Shortcut Icon? If so Right click on it and select
Properties. Then in the lower section of the Shortcut Tab change the Run
field to Maximize and save. The same technique works when starting from
Start > Programs list.

If you already have Maximize set start Guide and make it Full Screen. The
press and hold the Left Shift Key and close Guide with the 'X' at the upper
right. This causes the application to remember its previous condition and
position on the Desktop. HTH...joe :)
