Thank you for responding to my query. I should have posted an update
however since I figured out what I had done incorrectly and now have it
working fine. Long story short...I hadn't installed the ASCOM base
platform. Of course I was running Guide on an old laptop with Win98SE
which doesn't support .NET. So first I had conjure up a more powerful
laptop, load WinXP and .NET and everything else. It works like a charm
now. I figured out how to select an object and slew the telescope to
it as well as how to have Guide move to the current scope position. I'm
not clear about the function of the other controls in the ScopePad
dialogue, particularly the radio buttons. Any ideas?
