Re: [guide-user] Re: Guide positioning from the command line

Hi John,

"... this doesn't do anything

guide8.exe -o55d,+20d

ie decimal degrees."

Good point. I've fixed this; the next update will accept
entries such as the above, plus

-o31.41,-59.26
-o314159.2, +265358
-o31 41 59.2, +26 53 58
-o31h41m59.2s,+26 53' 58"

...i.e., in the first case, decimal degrees, and the rest
are hours/min/sec and deg/min/sec.

That oughta cover most cases, except someone's apt to want
to add a ',1950' or ',B1950' to the coordinates, to indicate
an epoch. But I'm not going to rush to add this; I'll just
keep it in mind.

"...BTW, the above new.htm. Is only the guide8.exe file
needed from that one for upgrade, technically?"

The 'lunar.dll' is also needed. (I failed to include that
originally, which is why Ulrich Dempe and Kevin Cooper saw
the "colorful realistic mode" problem.) If you've not upgraded
for a while, then some or most of the other files will be
needed, too. If, for example, you don't extract 'ecanned2.dat',
then you won't get the new Hipparcos comments. Doing piecemeal
updates may work, or may fail, and will void your warranty in
most jurisdictions. Caveat user!
