I think that fixing this ought to be my next task.
I've a decent idea as to how to go about it.

There's a new "testing" update at

This provides a way to use the most recent Hipparcos
data, which cuts the errors from the first version by
about half for most stars; a way to generate "star
trails" which will probably be of interest to very few
people; a small fix to a problem with rotating the CCD
frame; and the addition of a leap second to UTC at
the end of this year.
