Guide update is now "official"

Bill J Gray Jun 21, 2008

Hi folks,

It looks as if the "in-testing" update is free of significant
bugs. I've just made it "official", meaning that if you go to
the main Project Pluto page at

http://www.projectpluto.com

and click on the "updated software" link, you'll see that the
resulting page lists all the new changes.

PLEASE NOTE, though, that there is no change (*) between this
and the 2 June 2008 "in-testing" version. That is to say, if you
click on Help... About Guide and are told that "you are currently
running the 2 June 2008 version", you are up to date. I basically
froze the software after that date, waiting for bug reports and
not getting any.

(*) Okay, there _is_ one small change, affecting downloads of
SDSS-6 data. Stefano Trevisan posted about this here:

http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/guide-user/message/6724

and I replied here:

http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/guide-user/message/6725

Basically, if you're running the 2 June 2008 version and SDSS-6
doesn't work, you should grab this file:

http://www.projectpluto.com/vizier.tdf

(about 16 KBytes) and put it in your Guide folder.
