Bill,
Guide has served me well for several years. I use it mainly
for preparing monthly tracking charte for asteroids and comets
for the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh. I use
Guide's built-in asteroid data. but have to enter the new comet
data from the WEB.
Unfortunately, every month or two I get a message that Guide
has encountered an error and must be shut down. It cannot be
revived. So, I have to remove Guide8.exe (by renaming it) and
reinstall it from the Guide 8 CD. Since the new version has the
original default settings, all these (background, colors, etc.)
must be reset. Unfortunately, all of the entered comet data are
gone and must be re-entered.
Can you tell me if there is a way to re-install Guide.exe
and keep the previously entered settings and comet data?
