Hello Alan,

what you proposed is true for a fixed zone around the ZENITH. But Pete was
asking for a "danger zone" around the NORTH CELESTIAL POLE, which I
suppose he needs for a scope mounted on a parallactic wedge. I think this can
only be done with drawing a circle as an overlay.
