Re: [guide-user] More cities in geo-mode

Hi Roger,

Go to Extras... Toggle User-Added Datasets. (You have to do this
_before_ going into geo-mode, because once in that mode, the menu
entry doesn't exist. More on this later.)

Look for "US Cities (geo mode only)". Turn them on, and adjust
the fields of view at which they are shown and color and such. _Then_
enter geo mode, zoom in, and you'll see the cities.

For cities outside the US, you'll need to put in the second Guide
CD and use Extras... Install to Hard Drive to install the "two million
place names" from that disk (unless you've already done so). Then,
go back into Toggle User-Added Datasets, and look for "Detailed
Cities", and turn those on.

There is no real way to filter either of these datasets (that is,
either you see all the cities or none; no way to omit smaller or
less significant places).

It occurs to me that, when in geo-mode, one could still have a
Toggle User-Added Dataset option, which would list only those
datasets that work in geo-mode. (The above city databases, the
MPC observatories, approximate locations of Guide users, and
country names.) The next update I post will have this.
