Yeah, making the shortcut is no problem...that's easy enough. I was just hoping that I wouldn't have to go through and reset everything all over again. Thanks for the feature of putting everything in one spot!

Ouch! That's never a fun time... good luck with the recovery!

Guide is a bit weird in that everything it does is stored
within the c:\guide8 folder. So yes, you can back that up,
then restore it once you've got a working hard drive.

The one exception to this will be the shortcut to start up
Guide, but this is easy enough to re-install "by hand" without
backing up any files, by right-clicking on your desktop and
using New... Shortcut.
