how did you try this? May be, I have not found this feature until now but I
think there is no resync function implemented in Guide8.

In my meaning resync is to look through the eye piece or on a camera image
and than tell the software with a mouse click on the monitor star map at
which object the telescope is really pointing at the moment.

This procedure can be done for instance in software "Cartes du Ciel". There
is a sync function in the telescope menue.

But it would be a great feature in Guide8 too, in future versions.
