Are you sure "Label" is on? Right click on one asteroid, select
"Display" and make sure "Label" is checked in the right upper corner.

I have downloaded the latest MPCORB file and it works fine with the full
file in Guide directory. I have the same version of Guide, 6 June 2007.

You may want to try this also. Insert #1 cd and start Guide, go to
"Install from hardrive under "extra" and see if asteroids are installed,
if yes remove them, shut Guide off and restart Guide using the cd again
but this time install them. Recheck labels are on.

Beyond that I don't see why it is not working.
