Hi folks,

Two problems have cropped up in Guide, and I just posted
an update that fixes both of them. If you haven't run into the
problems, you can skip getting the update.

Problem 1: Some people tried out the new NGC-IC Project features,
and got the data to display correctly, but _didn't_ get a new set
of comments in 'More Info'. It looks as if this is related to a
problem in file naming. The file on the NGC-IC site, www.ngcic.com,
first was named REVNGC2.TXT. Then it was renamed to REVNGC.TXT. I've
revised Guide to handle either case smoothly.

Problem 2: If you've downloaded a copy of MPCORB.DAT (MPC asteroid
data) in the last few days, you may have wondered where all your
asteroids went. MPCORB recently passed the 65536 (2 to the 16th)
object mark, and I learned that Guide didn't handle that as smoothly
as I expected. It 'rolled over'; if MPCORB had 66000 objects, Guide
saw only the first 66000 - 65536 = 464 of them. This, too, is fixed
now; Guide will be OK until MPCORB has 2 to the 32nd power objects,
about 4.2 billion.

Coincidentally, I got updated language files from Alberto Romero
(Spanish), Jan Manek (Czech), and Giuliano Pinto (Italian). If you're
using one of those languages, you may want to grab the new file for that
language.

James, quick note about drift-scanning: you're right, Charon
doesn't handle that right now, and it really should. I don't even
think it's all that hard to do. Give me a few days...

Paul, about using encoders in DOS: don't. DOS Guide "lags" Windows
Guide in this regard (as well as in most user interface regards). I
have some thoughts for ways to get DOS Guide to handle encoders, but
right now, they're just thoughts. (In general, I've done very little
work on DOS Guide in the last year or so, because fewer and fewer
people are using it; the shift to Windows is almost complete now. But
the people using DOS Guide are almost always doing scope control, using
cheap laptops. There are enough people doing this that encoder use in
DOS Guide appears to matter a bit.)
