The . in my email address has been causing folk bother.

I'm afraid whilst trying to get rid of it I kept changing it in the
wrong settings menu (there's about two or three) so it kept remaining.

It should be gone now as I've got rid of it in the right place,
somewhere I didn't set it in the first place (it must've copied it
from another setup screen that usually doesn't have any of the data
displayed).

or alternatively

"learn how to use yer spam filter settings for heaven's sake! You
could've blocked my mails and still retained all other yahoo group stuff."

depending on what sort of mood I'm in on any particular day ;^)
