Re: [guide-user] Guide startup from HTML-Link (MS IE on WinXP) ?

Hi Peter,

I can answer at least a few pieces of this puzzle.

First off: if you run 'c:\guide8\guide8.exe' from a command-line prompt,
it's apt to fail (as you found out). From the prompt, you need to change
the current working directory to c:\guide8, _then_ run the program, such as

c:
cd \guide8
guide8 (command-line arguments)

Otherwise, Guide will start looking for various files in the current
(non-Guide8) directory, and things will break.

.MAR files do indeed still work as described at the URL you referenced.

I can see a fair bit of utility in what you're doing here. I've tried it
under Firefox, also without success. However, I've not tried getting programs
to run through a browser before... anyone have comments about how to do this?
