I have tried this. It does not work for me; the real problem is that there are
several lines of continuous text with little obvious structure. I can not see
how to have one parameter separated from another. In my original dat file, it
showed a continuous run from mpcorb into other meaningless parameters. I have
edited this to show a ; after the .dat but it has made no difference.

The other suggestions have worked fine - thanks to all contributors.
