Re: [guide-user] DSO notes (was: DSO distances)

Hi Martin,

You wrote:

Notes can be added for almost all objects in Guide: NGC and IC objects,
planets, asteroids, comets, stars, and so on. The notes appear in files
with extension .not, in the 'text' folder of the first Guide CD. (If you've
installed them to the hard drive, they can also be found in the 'text' folder
within the Guide folder on your hard drive.) As you can see by examining
any of these .not files, they are quite simple; the system is described in
chapter 21 of the Guide user manual.

However, I see that there's no way to add notes for DSOs that don't appear
in the NGC or IC. That was simply an oversight, corrected with one line of
code; in the next update I post, one will be able to edit a 'dso.not' file to
put in any sort of notes one might happen to have.
