Thanks to all who replied,

And to Bill... I am really embarrassed! I went up and down the
Settings|Toolbars list 3 or 4 times before I posted, and apparently
missed it each time. My only excuse is that it was the middle of the
night and I was down to my last three brain cells. The full-screen
toggle was already set for alt-F1, but I don't remember doing it. I
followed Laurent's lead and changed it to plain vanilla "F" for full
screen. Maybe I can remember that if I really concentrate! :-<
