Yup, that _is_ strange. Could you please send, via private e-mail, the file
'startup.mar' from the Guide folder of the desktop?

I can't replicate the bug, and you don't see it on the laptop. My guess would
be that on the desktop, you have some configuration not normally seen ("if you're
using the Equidistant Azimuthal projection, _and_ are in 'zenith up' mode, _and_
do something else, the bug appears.") With your 'startup.mar' file, I can
probably replicate the bug and then have good odds of fixing it.
