I need some assistance.
I have just installed a hard drive to our main astrometric computer at ASO that contains
the USNO B1 catalog, consisting of 180 folders.
The new drive is showing up as the "g" drive and appears to be complete in all respects.
It is a proven installation that has been provided by Rofl Wildberg (IAU 198), who has
distributed this same hard drive for turnkey use to over 30 observers. However, in most
cases they are using Astrometrica.
We have both the USNO A2 and the UCAC-2 catalogs successfully installed for use with
Guide8 on all computers for both Guide8 display AND for Charon astrometric reduction
software. Both of these catalogs however are installed on theh "c" drive of these
computers.
The pathway that we have indicated for Guide8/Charon for the new USNO B1 catalog (the
file name on the "g" drive for this catalog is: usnob1 )
and pathway is designated:
USNOB1_PATH=g:\usnob1
I have also attempted to CHANGE the file name to simply "b1" and change the pathway
appropriately, but with no success there either.
The datasets toggle for Guide8 has the USNO B1 catalog selected with the "*" from hard
drive.
Note that we successfully toggle the USNO A2 as: (file name is listed as "a2" and is on
the "c" drive
A2_PATH=14.3;c:\a2
and the UCAC-2 catalog as:
UCAC2_PATH=c:\ucac2\u2
and have no problems accessing either of these catalogs with either Guide8 screen
display or Charon where we can toggle between either of these catalogs.
But the USNO B1 will not toggle, nor will it show up on the screen, even though it is
clearly functioning on the "g" drive of these computers.
The hard drive has supposedly been formatted and partitioned properly for use with
Windows, etc., and was tested by Mr. Wildberg on his Windows computer prior to sending
from Germany.
Any guidance will be greatly appreciated. I am stumped.
