Hi Bill,

I was running the 6 June test version on XP with no problems. When I
installed the current test file, the first thing that happened was I
lost my toolbar icons except for the "Goto Sun" icon. (I had about
ten icons on it.) Before I rebuilt the toolbar, I checked to see if
there were any other problems. The Guide 6 MFC crashes in ntdll.dll
which I used to get have reappeared as Guide 8 MFC crashes in
ntdll.dll. Actually, it worked okay until I remembered that the
Guide 6 MFC crashes used to happen when I accidentally double-clicked
the Guide icon. I checked to see if that was occurring again. Dumb
move! It is happening, and after the first time, Guide crashed
repeatedly every time I tried to run it until I restored it again.

Since I use Ghost to back up my drives nightly, I deleted and
restored the files in Guide's root directory, and it worked
beautifully. Then I installed the new update. MFC crashed me
again. Three times I restored Guide, three times I d/l the new file
again (to make sure I didn't have a bad d/l), and three times the
same thing happened. (Ghost is great for easily restoring one file
or a whole drive.)

I now have the 30 March version reinstalled and working fine. I
really would like to use the latest test version, though. Is there
anything here that gives you an "Aha!" about the problem? Any
testing I can do, let me know. I have a lot more patience and time
than I do knowledge, but I'll try.
