Re: [guide-user] FITS images

James Ellis May 5, 2000

Hi Michael,

I just emailed an MX5c fits image to Bill and he told me that Charon loaded
the image ok but it couldn't do any matching because the stars were saturated.
I'll start again with the raw image and not stretch it so much this time!

When I next get my hands on a CCD camera I'll try again......

If you northerners want to see a real globular cluster then go to
http://web.one.net.au/~yosydney and follow the links to Starlight Xpress
images. These are my first efforts at CCD imaging! Bear in mind the field
is just under a degree wide.

Cheers

James

PS looks like we survived the conjunction intact. Has ARC ANGEL contacted
you about this yet Bill?? <grin>
At a local astro night we were looking at Mars and I was explaining the
different surface markings. A gentleman pipped in and said "I don't need to
hear this as that's where I'm from...." I said "well you must have big
lungs, then."
Must be the water here.
