Hi Martin,

With regards to the comets.. first of all check that they are turned on
and a decent magnitude. Then under Extras.. use Add MPC comets and
Asteroids. You will then be shown a selection of objects to download
from the MPC. The first one is Download updated comet data.
By clicking on this, it will download currently visible objects for
Guide. You can also download various types of asteroids.
Now when you click on GOTO Comets, you will be presented will a whole
list of comets.
With regards to asteroids, I would download the MPCORB.zip from..

http://mpcorb.klet.org/

then unzip it into the Guide 8 directory, and then all know asteroids
are available to PLUS Comets.
If you are still having trouble viewing asteroids after that, then make
sure under Extras that use MPCORB is ticked. Though it should do that
straight away.
