At present, the maximum line length is 4000 bytes.

Let me know if you need more than that. The maximum line length
has been increased several times; I kept thinking "_this_ will be
long enough!", only to find out that it wasn't. If even 4000 bytes
is not enough, I'll revise Guide so that a TDF can contain a line
such as

maxline 320000

or some such (default remaining at 4000 bytes.)
