I usually work with a two-display setup. I know this problem. There are some
inconveniences when switching back to one monitor (e. g. laptop without
external monitor to which the desktop is extended, not cloned as with a beamer).
If you have moved some of your menus to the second monitor they will stay at
that coordinates. With only one monitor you can't reach them wih your mouse.
The only solution I have is to plug in the second monitor, move *all* your
different menus to the main monitor and continue with one monitor.

I have this behaviour also with other software packages, mainly Photoshop 7
and I think FreeHand 10 too.
