Re cmc14

duble.stars Mar 25, 2007

Hi again

Thanks for the 5 lines

Well, the lines are fine, the ra starts at column 20, the dec at 32
and the mags start in the right place too, which is where the tdf is
looking.

So the data, if in a file called cmc14.txt, should be displaying fine,
there's no problem there.

The only thing left for you to do is to take the new Guide8.zip and
extract the file gsc22.tdf. Then copy that file, and that file only,
over to the Guide directory, making sure you replace the original.

You can, first, if you wish, look at the gsc22.tdf currently in your
Guide directory, load it into notepad, and go to the very bottom of
the file and see if you can find anything that says cmc14, and if
there is nothing, you're currently still on the old one.

Basically, if you have the newest gsc22.tdf _and_ cmc14.txt in your
Guide directory it is impossible for the stars not to show if
activated, as the data and tdf are there. And it should show up in
toggle user datasets too so if it is inactive you can activate it.

It looks like you should be getting stars with some sort of symbol
around them.

One last ditch thing you could try is to edit the tdf and put a

;

character in the line that starts "photo" such that

file cmc14.txt
title CMC-14
RA H 20 10
units0 -2 # RA 'hours' are really decimal degrees
de d 32 10
mag 54 6
photo J:97,6 H:105,6 K:113,6
text 1 15
~b 1 15 14CMC %s\n

now reads

file cmc14.txt
title CMC-14
RA H 20 10
units0 -2 # RA 'hours' are really decimal degrees
de d 32 10
mag 54 6
;photo J:97,6 H:105,6 K:113,6
text 1 15
~b 1 15 14CMC %s\n

but I can't really see that being the cause. If cmc14.txt is there it
can't help but work.

Cheers

John
