Hi Jerry,
A bit of a follow-up to Bernd's comments:
You can just go to Settings... Toolbar, and scroll down to near the
bottom of the list of toolbar options. You'll see a "Show zenith" button.
Turn that one on. You don't need to play around with 'toolbar.dat' (or
even know it exists) to get this to work.
The absence of a '1.bmp' bitmap file isn't actually a problem; there
are a slew of bitmaps stored in the file 'bitmap.lmp' (a "lump" of bitmaps).
Guide will get the bitmap from that file.
The one slight problem with this is that the toolbar button will just
show a "1". For a lot of the toolbar buttons, I simply recycled an
existing button, and many make no particular sense. There are a couple
of options here.
You can follow Bernd's suggestion, and make your own '1.bmp' file.
(Or edit 'toolbar.dat' and give the image a different name; this is
documented at the end of 'toolbar.dat', and at
http://www.projectpluto.com/toolbar.htm
Or, you can download and unZIP the following file (about 168 KBytes
zipped):
http://www.projectpluto.com/new_tool.zip
An embarrassingly long time ago, Bertrand Laville provided me with a
slew of new toolbar buttons, which make _much_ more sense than those
usually provided with Guide. (For example, his 'go to zenith' button
is a 'Z' in a green circle.) If you download and unZIP the above file
in your Guide folder, many replacement toolbar .BMPs will be provided,
along with a new toolbar.dat that makes use of them.
The only small downside to this is that you'll revert to the default
set of icons on the toolbar: that is, you'll see "go to planet",
"data shown", "level 1", "level 4", etc. So you may need to invest
a few moments in Settings... Toolbar to customize your toolbar. A small
price, I'd say, to have toolbar buttons that make sense.
