This is because V1279 Sco _is_ HK Lup, due to serious stupidity by the
gcvs and iau re nomenclatural changes for old variables that have
since precessed over the borders of constellations.

Evidently Bill has done something to allow for these cases, as you are
seeing both incarnations onscreen, unless the new test update is
showing both the old (CD) and new (downloaded) gcvs data, and due to
the differing names, presents the object twice.

But the renaming stupidity is highlighted here as people don't realise
they're the same object renamed unless they already know the fact, so
it's just adding one more learn-by-rote needless vagary to the already
well confused nomenclatural system that variables undergo.

NB it appears in this case that this one is only 1' or less over the
Scorpius border.
