Thanks Bill and John!

The fix that worked: Download the MPCORD.zip file. Unzip. Find the
MPCORB.DAT file and move it to the Guide directory. Asteroids appear!

Hi Ed,

As has been mentioned, this problem does crop up from time to time.
It is addressed here:

http://www.projectp
<http://www.projectpluto.com/faq_curr.htm#missing_asteroids>
luto.com/faq_curr.htm#missing_asteroids

_Usually_, the fix described therein fixes the problem: it boils
down to asteroid elements not being available to the program, and once
you make them available (from the second Guide CD-ROM), asteroids reappear.

However, some folks have been reporting that this doesn't do the
job. I still have no idea why. I expect I'll be adding some "test"
code to investigate the problem: something that will build up a report
file logging what Guide is doing when drawing asteroids, that will
allow me to see where the problem comes into play.
