Some time ago I also had that problem, but it has disappeared since then. I
tried to test what Denis has described but I could not replicate the
problem.

On the other hand, I have no "Initial position" in the list of the marks,
and instead a "STARTUP.MAR". So I manually edited marks.nam and replaced in
the second column "STARTUP.MAR" with "Initial position". After starting
Guide, now a mark I created a long time ago appears twice.

After quitting and restarting Guide, the double name has disappeared, and
also the "Initial position", which is now labeled ... "STARTUP.MAR".
