I am currently using the 29 May 2006 version of Guide 8 and have downloaded
the current GCVS.



My problem is I have all the names for the variables appearing on screen
with no identifying feature to tell the variable from a normal star.



How do I:



+ toggle the variable star labels

+ select a symbol to make the variable identifiable from a normal star.
