Hi Mark,

Can't really tell much from that info, but I'll suggest some usual
methods for investigating "mystery bugs".

(1) Make sure you're using the current "in-testing" version, from

http://www.projectpluto.com/new.htm

This includes a few bug fixes relative to previous versions.

(2) See if having the first Guide CD in the CD-ROM drive causes it
to work.

(3) What's changed between the time Guide last worked and the time
it first started misbehaving? (Did you install/uninstall hardware or
software? etc.)

(4) Send me the file 'startup.mar' from your Guide folder. That
will let me set up Guide to use your settings, and will frequently
enable me to replicate your bugs. (Usually, replicating your bugs is
key to my puzzling them out and fixing them.)
