Re: [guide-user] Another update to the 'in-testing' update

Hi Bill, Hi folks,

I've tested last night the new LX200 "Get Info" feature, and it works fine.
I mean to say that Guide displays not the previous window "No reply from the scope", but a new window, in which are written data as detailed by Bill.
Data of telescope type and firmware failed, and Guide displays for each of them : " (no reply)"; but I must say that my LX200 is a classic one, from year1998, which might be the explanation of this lack of answer.

Hi folks,

I've just updated the 'in-testing' version at

http://www.projectpluto.com/new.htm

* Bertrand Laville mentioned a problem with the LX-200 "Get Info"
button. I think I've diagnosed this: "Get Info" requests the telescope
type, firmware date, and currently set lat/lon and time and time zone.
If any one of these requests failed, Guide gave an error report and
nothing else. Now, it'll indicate that the scope answered some
questions but not others.

My suspicion is that (despite what the documentation says) some
scopes answer all of these questions, and others don't.
