Being ASCOM compatible means that the program can work through a
'hub'. This means that other programs with much greater facilities -
such as automatic focusing, target sequencing and many other non-Guide
facilities - can work seamlessly with Guide, using Guide's special
capabilities (such as complete asteroid - comet location) to drive the
scope when required. As it is now, if Guide is in control, *no* other
program can access the telescope so we are limited to Guide's
facilities. Currently Guide is excellent for many things - but by no
means all controls on my telescope! Like others, I have been asking for
ASCOM compatibility for a *long* time.
