Hi folks,
I've just updated the 'in-testing' version at
http://www.projectpluto.com/new.htm
As I've mentioned, I'm now focussing solely on bug fixes. In no
particular order:
* I fixed the MegaTek chip issue mentioned by Bernd Brinkmann
(there's some text at the bottom of 'ccds.nam' describing what I had to
do).
* The Canon EOS problem mentioned by Markus Funke will require a new
'ccd.nad' (German version of the CCD list). You can now get that, plus
the CCD files for other languages, at
http://www.projectpluto.com/ccds.zip . (After this update is
"official", this won't be a problem anymore; you'll be able to get
that updated as part of the "language" files.)
* Bertrand Laville mentioned a problem with the LX-200 "Get Info"
button. I think I've diagnosed this: "Get Info" requests the telescope
type, firmware date, and currently set lat/lon and time and time zone.
If any one of these requests failed, Guide gave an error report and
nothing else. Now, it'll indicate that the scope answered some
questions but not others.
My suspicion is that (despite what the documentation says) some
scopes answer all of these questions, and others don't.
* Still dunno what's going on with the asteroid problems seen by
David Higgins and John Greaves. (David, if you click on Settings...
Time Menu, then on Time Format, you'll see a set of radio buttons for
the various calendars supported by Guide. Gregorian and Julian are
among them. They differ by 13 days at present; select Julian, and you
will be seeing asteroids "off" by 13 days. Quick symptom of this: if
you start up Guide and it shows the date as being 13 days ago, you're
set to the Julian calendar.)
