[guide-user] LONEOS/hard drive-izing

LONEOS.PHOT PROBLEMS:

Michael, renaming the file to LONEOS.PHOT was a necessary step.
But from the 'l.out' comment, I think you may have gotten the wrong
file. The file you want is about 2164 KBytes in uncompressed form (608K
compressed) and begins with lines such as:

------------ Clip from LONEOS.PHOT header ------------
Johnson-Cousins BVRI photometry for faint field stars
version: 11 March 2000

N.B.: !!! Primary or high-weight secondary standard stars are now marked with
------------ Clip from LONEOS.PHOT header ------------

GUIDE ON A HARD DRIVE:

Fraser, thanks for the comments on this. Guide does get a fair bit
of use on older systems (usually cases where somebody got a Pentium III
and put the old '386 out in the observatory, or where they picked up an
old laptop cheap.) One of the few major software changes I'll have to
make for 8.0 will be to provide a better interface and finer control over
"hard drive-ization", and to have it handle the situation where no CD
is available with better grace.
