That _could_ be true, but I'd find it _very_ surprising. Have you
tried the commands and found that they don't work?

The Meade documentation of their protocols is quite good, but it's
all for older scopes. However, they have a decent pattern of not
changing things too drastically when moving from one type of scope to
the next. Some commands may be added, but the old ones don't get
changed much. And the few changes that are made are usually minor
enough that nobody actually notices.

So I'd expect that most, and perhaps even all, of the Guide
controls for Meade scopes will also apply to the RCX400. Please let me
know if you find otherwise.

It certainly shouldn't be necessary to add ASCOM support to get
Guide to control the telescope (though as has been mentioned on this
list, it would be desirable for other reasons.)
