New LX200 featurers
Bertrand Laville Nov 8, 2005
ViergeHi Bill, Hi All,
Here are the results of my tests concerning the new possibilities of Guide in interaction with LX200.
1) LX200 set time: I already implemented this possibility since Bill described the new feature in this list, a couple of months ago. It was running fine, and I've verified Guide carries on well runing with it with the new beta update. All seems OK for me.
2) LX200 latitude/longitude: I've tested this new feature yesterday night, and it runs well. Changing several time the lat/lon in my LX200, Guide re-writed each time the data displayed on the screen of the scope pad, accordingly with the ones settled in the location of the mark I used to drive the scope. For this feature, also, all seems running well.
3) LX200 "?" (info): This feature doesn't work. When I clicked on the icon "LX200?", I saw that Guide asked the scope to send it back the infos, because the arrow Windows turned into a timer. But, after a small dozen of seconds, a small info-box appeared in the center of the computer screen, on which it is writen: "no reply from the scope". Same thing happened each time I clicked on the "LX200 info" icon.
Precision on my devices. The scope is an LX200 "classic", 10", year 1998. The internal software is 3.34L version, as it is displayed on the keypad screen when I fire up the scope.
My laptop runs with Windows XP, Service Pack 2.
Hope these infos will hemp Bill.
Thanks
Bertrand
