A summary of topics would be a little difficult, the session lasted 2
hrs and covered a lot of material. But a run down of how I conducted
the session might be of use to anyone who is thinking of trying to
hold a session of their own.
First, I used a data projector and projected the program onto a wall.
Second, I started by showing the "out of the box" Factory Default
screen and suggested that as they use the program more and more they
will find that customizing the screen data to fit their needs is the
only way to go. At this point I explained how to "Save a Mark" and
how to "Load a Mark"
Third, I decided that demonstrating each one of the "Pull Down" menus
in order would make logical sense and keep things on track.
As we went through each of the items on each pull down, it became
apparent that a lot of unique features to Guide were often over-
looked due to haste.
By the end of the session a couple of very important features were at
the top of everyones list of things to do. Those features were:
Customize the screen data to fit your needs, then save those settings
as a "Mark"; Customize your "Tool Bar" with your most fequently used
items, tasks,levels, etc.; and lastly just learn to deal with
the "clunkiness of the printing" and blame it on Mr. Gates & Co.
I will keep you posted as to when and how, my next session is and
goes.
