Improvement for Info window

Bertrand Laville Sep 25, 2005

ViergeHi Bill, I All,

I would like to suggest an improvement for the info window: beside the 'Next" button, it would be nice to have a "Previous" button.

The reason is that Guide often displays several datafiles and extra datafiles for the same object.

Let me give you an example for a star:
you may have first the "normal" window for Hipparcos, Tycho, PPM, etc. files, but also, if it is a double, WDS, CCDM, TDSC, moreover if it is a variable, CGVS, CGVS2004. You may also add, in extreme case, quasar file, wolf rayet, cataclysmic variable, and so on.
And also, if you have the chance to have them on your hard drive (thanks, Bill), UCAC2 and A2.0 windows.
If you want to go back to the previous window you've just seen, you must recommence all from the begining. And if you overpass the right window by mistake, you have to recomence a third time :-)

Stars are not only concerned. For galaxies, for instance, you may have the normal window for NGC/IC, PGC, UGC, etc. files, but also LEDA, Revised NGC/IC 2005, Revised Flat Galaxy catalog, Active Galaxy Nuclei, etc.
Same thing happens for open clusters, with NGC/IC, Dias, DSH, Collinder, Trumpler...etc, or globular clusters, with NGC/IC, Harris, and Accurate list.

Might it be possible, Bill ?

Thanks

Bertrand
