[guide-user] Re: Possible Bug in MPCORB read routine?
Bill Gray Mar 21, 2000
Hi folks,
A couple of quick responses:
I also tried getting "mismatched" asteroid data, with no success.
And the
CR-vs-non-CR issue shouldn't arise; I was quite careful about making
sure that
Guide could handle either variant smoothly. Perhaps you've got an older
Guide?
It wouldn't surprise me much to find this was a bug I fixed a while
back...
I will have to digest and reply later on most of the other comments.
I _thought_
I'd fixed the "finding next eclipse instead of nearest" problem, but I
just tried
it, and it sometimes finds the nearest, sometimes the next... probably
my "test"
cases previously all happened to be of the first sort. I was able to
reproduce the
odd behavior with the realistic mode (sky turns black well before
sunset, turns
blue well before sunrise) and fixed it; I'll post this, once I fix
some of the
other gremlins reported over the last few days.
At present, I'm working on getting the cross-reference between
GSC-ACT and A2.0.
The primary benefit of this to Guide 8 users will be that you'll be able
to switch
off most of the spurious stars in GSC. (There may be other benefits,
such as getting
low-grade proper motion data, but this is chancy at best.)
