Which star(s) in particular are disappearing? They ought
to be maintained even when the field of view is .001 arcsecond.

As Richard mentioned, when you "go to" a star, it's not
necessarily centered exactly. For example, if you use Go To...
Object Name and enter a name such as "Aldebaran", Guide will
find the location of that star as of 1 January 2000 (no proper
motion). I don't really consider this a big problem, but I've
just fixed it anyway.

When using "Go To... Star... Common Name", and clicking on
a name in that list, Guide centers exactly on the star, with
proper motion included.

With orbital binary stars such as Sirius and Procyon, Guide
centers on the center of mass of the stars. So it will be very
close to the bright component, slightly offset toward the dimmer
component.
