Hello Lauren,

Guide computes the coordinates of a binary system as the center of
mass of the components. As you would expect from that, at very small
fields and significant separation, both stars can move off the field
where the centroid is located.

Both Sirius and Polaris are multiple systems. You can dig this
information out by clicking on 'more info'
