Bill;
I've always use Guide8 for all serious work. I'm currently running
Guide8, 03-2003 version, but haven't upgraded because I haven't seen
anything I believed I needed. I have a Losmandy Titan with Gemini 3.11.
Recently I went over to the Dark Side after 15yrs of film work.
Being star starved and frustrated with TS6's lack of catalogs,
difficulty accessing and displaying what information there is there I've
been experimenting with Guide8's Telescope Control. I have the COM Port and
LX-200 protocol set.
I have Telescope Control working, but I receive an odd msg when doing a
"Slew Scope". When I Sync a star with Gemini and use the Telescope Control
to "Slew Guide" to the position it works properly, the star is centered
"exactly". No adjustments are required to Sync the object like what's
required in TS6.
When I find an object in Guide8 and click on it then press either F11
or click "Slew Scope" there's no indication the telescope is being moved.
After a short while I receive a little Pop-Up stating "Below Horizon".
But,,, when I take an exposure the star/object "is" centered properly on the
chip.
I have checked my Time and Location settings in Guide and they're okay.
What would be causing the "Below Horizon" msg although Guide moves the mount
properly? Also, should there be some sort of indicator while the mount is
being moved?
Thks for such a fine program and continous outstanding Customer
Service. A satisfied Guide user since Guide4...joe :)
